In today’s episode, I talk about Elon Musk’s Vedic astrology chart and make a few predictions about what lies ahead for him. This is not because I think anyone needs to know more about this guy – he been taking up way too much space in the world these days as it is.
My goal here is more to demonstrate how much you can see about a person in their chart. Musk is a good choice for this task, since we know a lot about his story and success.
Elon Musk’s Vedic astrology chart
Elon Musk was born on June 28, 1971 in Pretoria-wes, Gauteng, South Africa. The time given is 7:30 am. I always find these rounded birth times rather dubious. However, when I went through his raśi (main birth chart) and various divisional charts, all the pieces seemed to fit. Therefore, it seems he was likely born sometime between 7:30 and 7:33 in the morning. I’ve included his raśi (D-1) and D-10 (career chart) above, as I mention both in the episode.
Here are the dates I mention:
Musk’s Rahu time period (Viṁśottarī): April 19, 2014 to April 20, 2030
Nārāyaṇa time period (previous): June 28, 2014 to June 28, 2028
Nārāyaṇa time period (upcoming): June 28, 2025 to June 28, 2027
Saturn and Rahu together in his 10th house/arudha lagna: March 29, 2025 to May 18, 2025
Ketu transiting his moon: May 18, 2025 to December 5, 2026
Astro term glossary
For those who don’t have much knowledge of astrology/Vedic astrology, I’ve created a little glossary here to help you understand the terms I used:
lagna - the zodiac sign rising on the eastern horizon at the time of birth, determining the first house of the natal chart; this is also called the ascendant.
combust - a combust planet is one that comes too close to the Sun, therefore losing its strength and diminishing its ability to give full results in the chart.
pūrvaphālgunī nakshatra - this is Elon Musk’s moon nakshatra; you can read more about how impact his mind here.
D10 chart - the D10 chart (Dashamsa or Daśāṁśa) is a divisional chart that analyzes career, profession, and social status. It provides deeper insights into a person's work life, success, and reputation.
debilitation - a debilitated planet is one placed in the sign where it loses strength and struggles to give positive results. This can create challenges related to the planet’s significations. As I mention in the episode, debilitated planets in the D10 can still bring wealth (this is an exception, because normally they bring struggle); however, this wealth is not necessarily based on high quality or ethical standards.
Marana Kāraka Sthāna - Marana Kāraka Sthāna (MKS) is the house placement where a planet feels extremely weak, akin to being in a state of "death." In this position, the planet struggles to give positive results and may cause difficulties related to its significations.
Viṁśottarī Daśā - Viṁśottarī Daśā is a predictive system that divides a person’s life into planetary periods, each ruled by one of the nine planets. It helps determine life events and timing based on the planetary influences active at a given time.
Nārāyaṇa Daśā - Nārāyaṇa Daśā is a conditional planetary period system based on sign-based progressions rather than planetary rulership. It is primarily used for timing significant life events, especially in Jaimini astrology.
Mahādaśā - mahādaśā refers to the major planetary period in a timing technique. The length depends on the planet and can range anywhere from 6 years (the Sun) to 20 years (Venus).
Antardaśa - a sub-period in the mahādaśa that brings in other influences.
Arudha lagna - Arudha Lagna (AL) is a calculated point that represents the public image or external manifestation of an individual’s personality. I wrote about it in this post.
A few last points
Although Musk doesn’t have a chart where Rahu takes the reigns at all times, he is definitely in a time period where this is the case. Rahu also signifies insatiable greed and materialism, which is obviously an issue for him. Being the richest man in the world is apparently not enough for this guy. But there’s a rocky road ahead and the seemingly endless gains he’s made since 2014 will likely soon slow down.
For now, he is just the kind of Rahu character destined to be in the limelight during the country’s Rahu time period, which I wrote about here. The same is true about Trump. Here’s hoping the country gets some more positive Rahu figures in the future.
